We welcome all to come and either check us out or become part of our fellowship. Whether you have never been to church before, looking for a new church, disillusioned or burnt out, we welcome all to sit under the word. When and Where? Our worship service is Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. on 751 Dalton Ave in the Clermont building (location). We share the same building as Kingston Access Bus. Come through the main front doors where you will be welcomed by one of our greeters. Our service concludes at 12 p.m however, we invite everyone to stay after the service, grab some coffee (or juice) and enjoy some fellowship with the body of Christ. Do people dress up for your service? Most of those attending OBF would be in what you would likely call 'business casual' and some are in jeans and some are in suits or dresses. We encourage people to dress comfortably…what you feel comfortable in when attending a worship service. What should I expect on my first visit? When you arrive there will be greeters to welcome you and give you a bulletin. Feel free to ask them any questions you may have about our church. Our worship service begins with announcements and prayer. Following the prayer our worship team will lead us in praise and worship. Most people stand during this time, however, there is complete freedom to be seated if you prefer. The words of all of the songs are projected onto a screen at the front of the room and you are invited to join in, and sing along, giving praise to God. Most of all we want this time of worship to be a connection point with you and God and you are encouraged to process the lyrics, reflecting on what they are saying about God and His place in your life. You'll probably hear songs you know or can relate to, even if you haven't been to church in years. Like most churches we take an offering in our service. If you are a guest, we welcome you to participate in the offering as God prompts you, but please don't feel any pressure from us. This offering is primarily intended for our attendees who consider OBF their church home. Please complete the Welcome Register for each member of your family in attendance. It is our desire to get to know you as well as help you with your spiritual needs. We are committed to ministering to and praying for all those who attend our church. Use the space below to communicate anything you would like us to know. First time visitors will receive a letter during the week. You won't have to recite anything or kneel at special times. You will not be singled out or asked to stand or raise your hand or anything else embarrassing so you can relax and enjoy the service. There's no reason to feel uncomfortable. OBF provides practical Bible messages that help you deal with real life issues. Pastor Allan preaches from the English Standard Version but there's no reason not to bring whatever version of the Bible you use. Pastor Allan preaches expository messages, meaning he preaches straight from the word verse by verse. Included in the bulletin is a message insert to help you jot down notes and verses therefore, what you learn on the weekend, you'll be able to use during the week. Is there anything for my young children? Presently, we offer Sunday school for children up to grade four. We invite the children to leave for Sunday school after the praise and worship during the offering. Sunday school is not a babysitting service. Children are taught the word in an age appropriate manner using material that emphasizes the same commitment to the word that is preached in the morning services. How can I stay connected during the week? By indicating on the Welcome Register that you would like to receive our weekly email. These emails include upcoming events, prayer updates and other OBF information. Presently we have a Bible study on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. where Pastor Allan takes us through the bible verse by verse to explore the depth and richness of the Word of God. As well come and join us on Friday nights at 6:00 p.m. for corporate prayer as we lift up our fellowship and it's needs. I still have questions… Please feel free to contact us through our church administrator.
